Years ago a sloped front and roof on a bluebird house was an odd thing to see, but with the development of the famous Peterson-style bluebird house, bluebird fans across the nation have chosen this design. A sloped roof makes it hard for predators to gain access to the nesthole and the slightly sloped front of the house helps fledgling bluebirds leave the nest.
The front panel easily swings open for easy monitoring and cleaning and there are drainage holes in the bottom of the nestbox.
House measures 17.75"H x 11.25"W x 7"D and uses a traditional 1-3/8" x 2.25" oval opening. |
